I pray for you, and me, and all of us
that during this season
of rush and fuss and busy-ness
we would quiet our hearts
and remember the reason
that the Christ child comes to us.
It is for love that He comes near.
He gives us grace and quiets our fear.
He takes our pain and sin and makes us new.
We can drop our burdens and rest in Him.
No longer trying to do and do and do,
we're transformed by Light that will never dim.
Peace and love and joy He'll bring;
with His song in us we too will sing.
When we invite Him into our hearts,
this is where the healing starts.
His light will spread to each person we meet,
and He Himself will guide our feet.
So during this Christmas for us I pray
to stop and listen to what He has to say,
spend sweet time communing with Him,
and let Him fill us to the very brim
with gifts that will forever last,
then these to others we will pass.
